Construction Project Scheduler

Hollister Construction Services is currently seeking a Senior Project Scheduler who has experience in supporting several commercial construction project managers who are responsible for managing multiple multi-million commercial projects within the Tri-State regions. This position will be responsible for development and maintenance of the construction schedule as well as frequent coordination with project team members.

The scheduler works under direct supervision, gathers and distributes information and reports directly to the Project Manager. The Scheduler must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

Major Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Plan, coordinate, supervise and direct all planning and scheduling activities as well as perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
  • Assist in creating new Baseline Schedules, Maintaining Baseline schedules, Monthly Updates, Delay Claims
  • Provide development/implementation of project controls standards and procedures.
  • Interface/maintain liaison with project management, owner, subcontractors, etc. on all planning and scheduling related items and functions including reporting requirements, progress status, new impacts, etc.
  • Represent company and/or project in meetings with owner, A/E representatives and other contractors as required as well as conduct construction/project onsite visits for progress reporting
  • Insure that corporate planning and schedule standards are implemented and that all project related activities comply.
  • Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies
  • Perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance
  • Evaluate and negotiate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule
  • Identify schedule related problems which arise during project execution and recommend corrective actions and creative solutions
  • Review weekly and monthly schedule progress and present to management for decision making
  • Perform cost analysis in support of construction phases of projects
  • Analyze actual expenditures versus budget performance
  • Prepare cost loaded schedule to support comprehensive cash flow projections
  • Experience with time impact analysis
  • Integration of the construction schedule into the master schedule
  • In depth knowledge of construction practices and sequencing

  • Must be able to work in corporate headquarters located in Parsippany NJ

Education and/or Experience 

  • BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building/Construction Management is PREFERRED
  • 5+ years of previous scheduling experience working in commercial construction management services type organization
  • Previous construction experience with commercial ground up new construction projects is desired.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel will be required
  • In depth Knowledge of schedule software/core standards including previous experience using Primavera P6 scheduling software is REQUIRED
  • Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling knowledge/experience is a plus
  • Experience with ProCore is a PLUS.
  • OSHA 10 is required
  • Field project management experience is a plus.
